Incidentally, both films had females as the central protagonists with Big B playing a pivotal role in the story. From Deepika Padukone to Taapsee Pannu (along with Kirti Kulhari and Andrea Tariang), the legendary superstar has managed to form good on-screen partnerships and that is reflecting in the kind of numbers that are being generated.
The film brought in 15 crore* more over the second weekend and that has allowed it to hit the 51 crore* mark. For Amitabh Bachchan, this is good news indeed after disappointments like TE3N and Wazir. Now one just hopes that another film that he and Shoojit Sircar had done ages ago, Shoebite, manages to release as well. That would pretty much turn out to be a treat for the audience.
