Join UsDespite the fact that there are five Hindi films releasing this weekend – The Legend of Michael Mishra, Fever, Budhia Singh – Born To Run, Hai Apna Dil Toh Awara and Moods of Crime, it is expected that Hollywood flick Jason Bourne would lead the show in theaters. The Hollywood biggie has managed to find good patronage over the years and though it doesn’t have a fan-base as wide as say, a Fast and the Furious or James Bond franchises (which are very high on action), the dramatic thriller has a loyal audience going for it.
The fifth in the series has been seeing paid previews in India for last few days, though surprisingly not much noise has been made around it. Now that it is finding full-fledged release tomorrow, one waits to see the return of Matt Damon in the franchise (he wasn’t the leading man in the last installment, The Bourne Legacy).
As for the Hindi releases, they have the task cut out to find good number of screens for them. With Dishoom entering the second week in a major way, the distribution of screens would be led by The Legend of Michael Mishra, followed by Fever. It is a tough road ahead for each of the new releases and it would be a happy scenario if even one of them springs a pleasant surprise.
Unfortunately for all the films that are already in the running, as well as the new releases, there is only one week to bring in some kind of moolah since come 12th August, and it would be Rustom and Mohenjo Daro occupying over 90% of screens.
