Box Office: Jai Gangaajal Is Ordinary (1st Week) , Neerja Stays Strong (3rd Week)

Jai Gangaajal was on a shaky wicket when it opened to low numbers on Friday. The weekend did see some push though, especially on Sunday, while Monday benefitting too due to holiday in some parts of the country. Rest of the weekdays stayed low though, as a result of which the Priyanka Chopra starrer struggled to hit the 30 crore mark. With 29.5 crore coming in, the film has managed an ordinary run at best.

The film hasn’t been received well, as has been the declining trend over the weekdays, and hence chances for it to score during the second week are minimal. The Prakash Jha directed film would need quite some stretch to hit the 40 crore mark and at best would be a recovery affair.

As for Zubaan, it is out of theaters now with lifetime collections under 1 crore. Disaster.

Neerja has maintained its good pull in theaters and scored well even in the third week. The film now stands around the 67.5 crore mark and would most definitely 70 crore milestone in its final run. The film is a Superhit and is still being retained in theaters in its fourth week.
