Amitabh Kant, the secretary of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) and the key driver of the ‘Incredible India’ campaign who was invited as the chief guest at the convocation of NID (National Institute Of Design) in Ahemdabad defended the exit of Aamir Khan as the brand ambassador of ‘Incredible India’ campaign.
When asked about Aamir’s exit from the ‘Incredible India’ campaign, Kant replied that a brand ambassador promotes a brand, and people will come to India and tourist flow will increase only if the brand ambassador of ‘Incredible India’ promotes India as Incredible India and if the ambassador (Aamir) says that India is Intolerant than definitely he is not working as a ambassador of India.
Amitabh further said that, Aamir is damaging the brand identity of the country and people will not come to India after hearing his Intolerance remarks about the country. As an ambassador he should promote the brand and not destroy the brand.
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan is busy with his upcoming biographical sports drama which is slated to release on 23rd December 2016.
