It has been quite long since films with good music have released and finally Roy seems to be that album. The film’s soundtrack has some truly amazing romantic tracks and the album is surely worth a hear. Composers Amaal Mallik and Ankit Tiwari come together for this album and both create magic with their compositions for this thriller.
Sooraj Dooba Hain – Roy Music Review
‘Sooraj Dooba Hain‘ has already become a sensation. The party track sung by Arijit Singh and Aditi Singh Sharma is an amazingly upbeat number that hooks you in right from the start. The lyrics too are excellent and this Amaal Mallik composition certainly has a lot of energy to drive you to the dance floor. There is a good use of electro music and the techno beats give this song the right pace. It is surely going to be one of the party songs of the year. This lively number excites your spirit and has the potential to become your playlist song. The song also has a remix number which is almost similar but has more portions of singing for Aditi Singh Sharma who totally nails it. Both are equally fast and energetic!
Tu Hai Ki Nahi – Roy Music Review
Every album needs a romantic number that truly touches your soul, ‘Tu Hai Ki Nahi‘ is that very song. Sung and composed by Ankit Tiwari even though this song is his signature style, it is an extremely beautiful composition with heart-warming lyrics. I loved this track for two things, one being the fact that it has minimal musical arrangements which give Ankit’s voice the main focus and secondly the whistle which sounds brilliant and has high recall value. This is one of the best songs from this album.
Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan – Roy Music Review
When composers get highly monotonous with their work, it is boring for the listeners as they keep making songs that are similar to their previous works. Chittiyan Kalaiyan is composed by Meet Brothers Anjjan who have now become like the new Honey Singh as they have at least one song in each new film these days. Sadly, with this song they do a shoddy job as they refabricate their most hit song ‘Baby Doll‘ and replace it with some girly ‘shaadi-sangeet’ lyrics. Sung by Kanika Kapoor, this song is an exact replica of Baby Doll and while listening to it you may find yourself continuing the other song.
Boond Boond – Roy Music Review
Boond Boond again an Ankit Tiwari number in the album is a romantic number but with this number, the composer does experiment when it comes to the musical arrangements. This one is also a song that I would love to play on loop.
Yaara Re – Roy Music Review
Ankit Tiwari is finally experimenting here and that is refreshing. Yaara Re is yet another number from Roy that is highly impressive. The song sung by KK is a good listen with good portions of guitar pieces and piano notes that truly make you feel this song.
Tu Hai Ki Nahi (Unplugged) – Roy Music Review
Tu Hai Ki Nahi original in itself is a beautiful track and its unplugged version sung by Tulsi Kumar is equally good. In its slow pace, the lyrics truly leave you impressed.
The Last Word – Roy Music Review
After really long time, here is an album that has songs which are truly worth listening peacefully on your phones. This album will surely make its way to your playlist and most songs are worth playing on loop. I truly loved ‘Tu Hai Ki Nahi‘ and of course one of the best party tracks to have been released this year ‘Sooraj Dooba Hain‘. I am going with a 3/5 for this fresh album.
