Join UsWell, ‘Koffee With Karan’ is in its fourth season now and those who have closely followed every season, every episode know that there is a candid charm about the show. It is always better to quote anecdotes from the previous seasons. Going through an episode from the first season, got overwhelmed simply because things have so much since those days, some for better and may be a lot for worse.
It was 2004. Eighth Episode of Koffee With Karan’s First Season. Donning the coveted couch was Mrs Gauri Khan and Mrs (now former) Suzanne Roshan. The two have been buddies as most know, but this show was all about their fun camaraderie and how their equations are with their respective hubbies.
While Gauri Khan was visibly more secure in her relationship, Suzanne was absolutely smitten by her love and marriage. On being asked at one cue, Suzanne answered that if ever there is a time when she and Hrithik aren’t together, she wouldn’t want to move on. Almost a decade later, here we are writing about their marriage ending. It was the most heartbreaking bit from the show.
Gauri when asked about SRK said if ever he chooses to be with someone else, she wouldn’t want him. Gauri said she is too proud to deal with that.
Joining them later on the show were the stars themselves, SRK and Hrithik. And while Hrithik was equally smitten with his 4 year old marriage then, SRK was past ‘the into each other’ phase of their life and said that the most romantic thing about his marriage was crossing his wife in the hallway.
Hrithik however shared his end of the love story. The actor said Suzanne was his first crush since he was 12. And at 16, he remember telling his best friend Uday Chopra that one day he will marry her. Friends used to tease him about her but it was all like destiny carved them out together.
What donned after watching this old episode was how lives had changed for Hrithik and Suzanne. And though hoping against odds isn’t what works mostly, perhaps there is a little chance the two mend their differences.
SRK and Gauri however continue to remain secured in their marriage and despite controversies of King Khan’s affair with Priyanka Chopra, their marriage has truly stood the test of time. Especially with the new little entrant in the family, Baby AbRam.
