Join UsActor Om Puri is absconding after his wife Nandita filed an official complaint against him charging him with domestic violence. In a complaint filed at the Versova Police Station, the actor’s wife accused him of threatening her and even beating her with a stick.
The actor has been booked under Section 324 and 506, mainly for insulting the modesty of a woman. The charges stand intensified as the woman in question is the wife of the accused.
The actor has been on the run since Friday and the Police is trying to track him down through his mobile phone. Reports suggests that problems first surfaced between the couple when wife Nandita wrote Om Puri’s biography which scooped out personal details about the actor’s life. However, real troubles began when Om’s first wife, Seema re-entered their lives leading to worsening of their relationship. Apparently, Seema and the veteran actor rekindled their decade old relation.
The couple have a son named Ishaan for whom they were trying to iron out their differences. But lately matters became worse as Nandita reported that Om hasn’t been giving her maintenance amount since September 2012. Om Puri filed the divorce in February.
