Woah! We are talking, not about the real life, but about the reel life, where Emraan plays a Maharashtrian character for the very first time in his decade-long career in the tinsel town.

The movie we are speaking of is Rajkumar Gupta’s Ghanchakkar, where Emraan essays the role of Sanjay Athray, a Maharashtrian guy, born and brought up in Mumbai. Sanjay who was once a lock picker, now leads a life on respectful terms.

Confirming the piece of news is Ghanchakkar’s director, Rajkumar Gupta, who finds it interesting to see Emraan don a Marathi avatar, and Vidya a Punjabi. He tags Emraan-Vidya’s marriage on screen, quirky and fun to watch.

The story is a quirky comedy about how the safe-cracker Sanju, after successfully robbing a bank with his partners, hides the loot money, and suffers from Amnesia, forgetting in turn where the booty is hidden. His partners in crime, embarking on a journey to remind Sanju where he hid the money, in turn moving in his house, where already lives Sanju’s wife.

Starring opposite Emraan, is our Balan-Kapur Babe, Vidya, who plays an in and out Punjabi kudi, and a fun-loving perky, housewife. While Vidya is seen speaking full-length Punjabi dialogues in the trailer, out on 28th March, Emraan’s Maharashtrian stint is yet to be seen.

Ghanchakkar which is slated to release on 28th June, promises the audiences fun with twists all the way long, during the runtime.
