Barring a delightful cameo in English Vinglish, Amitabh Bachchan hasn’t been seen on the Hindi film circuit for quite some time. Though quite active on social network media, he has kept his appearances restricted for quite some time now. However he is making an exception for Arshad Warsi, his protégé whom he launched close to two decades ago.

“Amitabh Bachchan is launching the theatrical promo of Arshad’s next film Jolly L.L.B today”, informs a source, “The event would take place at Mumbai and Big B has consented to grace the event.”

For Arshad this is a matter of double delight since the last time they shared a common platform, it was way back in 1996 when worked in ABCL’s first production Tere Mere Sapne.

“Of course they have interacted on number of occasions, this being a small industry. However they were never seen together on screen again. They did start work on a film called ‘Zamaanat’ soon after Tere Mere Sapne. The film had Karisma Kapoor as the leading lady opposite Arshad. However the film never saw the light of the day. Now that Arshad is being seen as a central protagonist in a film, a theatrical launch by his mentor is a proud moment indeed for him”, the source continues.

This is also three years after Hum Tum Aur Ghost that Arshad would be seen as a solo lead, something that makes it all the more important for him and his film to gain all the visibility and promotion. With Bachchan’s name attached to Jolly L.L.B, which is a satire on the judicial system of the country and features Arshad as a good-for-nothing qualified lawyer, it is a high profile beginning for his film.

Subhash Kapoor, the film’s director, confirmed that the film’s theatrical trailer would be officially launched by Amitabh Bachchan.
