Though it may have been a while since Ram Gopal Varma delivered a success at the box office, one can’t deny the fact that he his own unique way of directing a scene. Since Chakravarthy, the lead actor in Bhoot Returns, is also a director (he has made half a dozen films already), it must have been some experience to be directed by RGV, isn’t it?
“It’s an honour, period”, immediately says Chakravarthy who first shot to limelight in and as Satya, “Ramuji is a master at creating visuals and is extremely strong when it comes to conceptualising the kind of sound design that no one else would have even thought of. In fact this very aspect of Bhoot Returns along with use of 3D technology would freak you out. He is simply great and I consider him as my Guru.”
While the film’s outcome would be known in a few hours from now, reports have also trickled in and that so scary is the final product that even those associated with the film were left shocked, especially with technology playing tricks.
“Now isn’t that surprising”, says Chakravarthy in mock disbelief, “While doing the film, I knew the script inside out. Also, since I have been Ramuji’s assistant in number of films, I know his way of shot taking. Still, when we saw the film, despite knowing everything about each and every scene we had our own moments of fear. Now if it can happen to us then one can well imagine how it would be for the audience.”
He adds with a smile, “See, in a horror movie the whole purpose is to get scared. If you really wanted to be engrossed in a story, there are so many other films being made.”
Well, with the film now running in theatres, it is about time that audience announce their verdict and confess if they were indeed scared.
