Barfi! has wooed the multiplex crowds from its very Day 1. After making 8.75 Crores on its opening day at the domestic box office Barfi! saw a good jump on it’s Day 2 making about 11.50 Crores. It was an approx 35% growth as compared to Day 1.
One may feel that the collections would have been way better if the movie had released on more than just 300 single screen theaters. However, since the movie is basically a multiplex flick it would anyways have not done very well in the single screens.
Metros like Mumbai and Kolkata did exceptionally well on the collections. Other big centres like Bangalore, Mysore, Gurgaon and Hyderabad also did pretty well thanks to the positive reviews and word of mouth publicity. Some centres which picked up during the 2nd Day were Nagpur, Kanpur, Lucknow and Surat.
Collections are expected to witness a further growth on Sunday. All said and done Barfi! is having a rocking time at the box office.
Last week’s release Raaz 3 has dropped to quite an extent at the box office. The Emraan Hashmi starrer had made a 10.5 Crores opening day collection and 35 Crores weekend. However, the movie couldn’t carry forth its success streak in the 2nd week, all thanks to Barfi!
