After being in theatres for 4 weeks, Shaitaan collected 144.29 crores at the box office. This has now brought the film closer to the 150 crores milestone. The good thing that’s working for the film is that there is no new notable release this week. On the flip side, this is going to be a curtailed week as Eid biggies Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Ajay Devgn’s own Maidaan will arrive. As a result, it would all balance out.
For now, though, there has been a spike in numbers as 50 lakhs* came on Friday after Thursday had closed at 48 lakhs. Had there been even a mid-size film release on Friday, the collections could have gone into that 30 lakhs range. The real fun will be seen today and tomorrow when the collections are expected to surpass the 75 lakhs and 1 crore range. That would further add to the overall collections of the Ajay Devgn and Madhavan starrer which is the second biggest grosser of the year after Fighter.
Currently, Ajay Devgn & Madhavan‘s film stands at 144.79 crores*, and as you read this, the 145 crores mark has been crossed. By the close of its fifth weekend, the film would have come closer to the 147 crores milestone, and from there the journey would begin to hit that 150 crores milestone. It would be tough due to competition ahead of it but somehow even if 10-20 lakhs keep coming in daily post Eid then one can expect this one to at least give a fight.
