Crew did well on Monday as 4.52 crores came in. On Friday, which was a partial holiday, the film had collected 10.21 crores which means the hold is definitely there. From this point on, the film should stabilise further and the drops would be even minimal since it has already happened on Monday. Moreover, with good word of mouth coming its way, the film will further stabilise.
The common sentiment amongst those who have watched Crew is that it’s after ages that a light-hearted film like this has come, which also caters to the entire country and not just a state or two. Otherwise, there have been numerous North, Maharashtra or UP-centric films that have come, which are good but then restricted in appeal. Here, Crew as well actually caters primarily to the multiplex audiences but at least the demographics are spread across all the states, something which has started turning out to be rather rare.
The Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon starrer has now reached 37.05 crores and though it may just miss out on scoring a half-century in the first week itself, it will be quite close to that and the margin may just be a crore or two. Post that it will hold quite well in the second weekend with a big Saturday jump since there is going to be no competition. Expect yet another good grosser this year.
