Prem Ratan Dhan Payo had a stupendous Friday. Despite it being not a national holiday, the film sustained tremendously well yesterday, hence bringing in around 31.03 crore. Though one would have expected a slightly higher drop, considering the fact that weekend was still ahead of it, the fact that collections have fallen less than 25% of opening day (40.35 crore) indicates very good sustenance for the film. The film has collected 71.38 crore so far.
Of course a lot it is also attributed to the tremendous advance booking that the Rajshri and Fox film had enjoyed earlier in the week itself. This means that coupled with good current booking, there were enhanced numbers that came in. Still, anything over 25 crore would have been good and collections in excess of 30 crore are truly superb.

Now it is a given that Saturday would be huge too and even if it matches the Friday collections (which is quite probable), the game is on for the family film. With around 30 crore pretty much on the cards today, the film is now set to step into the 100 crore club in a matter of three days. While that would be the first for Sooraj Barjatya and Neil Nitin Mukesh, and second for Sonam Kapoor (after Bhaag Milkha Bhaag), it is a unique feat in the making for Salman Khan. Reason being that ever since the release of Dabangg, this would be his ninth straight 100 crore grosser, and that too in quick time of just 3 days.
Wow!
