After taking a good opening on Friday, Double Dhamaal collected a total of 25.65 crore (all-India net collections) at the box-office over its first weekend at the theatres (June 24 – 26, 2011).

Collections picked up a little on Saturday and phenomenally on Sunday (From 8 cr to 10 cr). Overall, the first weekend collections of the film are very good, but since all distributors who had bought the rights from Reliance Entertainment had paid very fancy prices, these collections may prove to be insufficient for them to make profits or even break even.
Explained differently, although the pickup in collections on Sunday was phenomenal, the start on Friday was not good enough for the price. However, considering the star cast, the start was good. Of course, since we speak about the collections vis-à-vis the cost, Double Dhamaal will have to continue to work at the box-office through the first week in order to break even. The second weekend’s collections will then, convert into profits.
