31st October, 1:13:7 – Ek Tera Saath, My Father Iqbal, Love Day, Gandhigiri and Final Cut of Director are the new Hindi releases of the week.
Amongst these, 31st October has been promoted to some extent at the least and could possibly bring in some sort of footfalls. That said, the Soha Ali Khan and Vir Das starrer is a delayed release and was slated for arrival exactly a year ago. Then it got caught in some controversy or another but it is finally able to make it now.
Amongst the rest of the lot, My Father Iqbal is releasing without any promotion. 1:13:7 – Ek Tera Saath is a musical romantic thriller with a suspense element to it and largely stars newcomers.

Gandhigiri is a comedy featuring Om Puri, who is in news for all the wrong reasons.
Love Day has been getting pushed for so long and it was originally slated to arrive last week.
Final Cut of Director is a film that was made in Hindi and Tamil (Bommalattam) eight years ago. Back then in 2008, Nana Patekar had done this film with Kajal Aggarwal when she had just started her career. Again, there is no promotion around it.
Yet again, all eyes would be on a couple of international films that are releasing. Train to Busan is the dubbed version of a South Korean zombie apocalypse horror film. It has enjoyed critical and commercial acclaim when released in Korea three months back. Also, Tom Cruise is bringing his sequel Jack Reacher: Never Go Back. Not that the first part had done phenomenal business in India but then the name Tom Cruise still carries some sort of weight than compared to other films that are releasing. There will be some numbers at least that the Hollywood superstar will bring in India.
The scenario will of course change when Shivaay and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil hit the screens. However till, the lean period is set to continue.
